What's In My Bag: Zara Mini Office City

A new bag can only mean one thing.. a video of me rummaging around in it, pulling out all sorts of unnecessary items that I've probably forgotten about - does anyone really need six different lip products? The bag itself is the Zara Office City Mini, the only purchase I made during the sale which er, actually happened to still be full price.

This Week #56

This week the most perfect item of clothing came into my life. For almost a year I've been searching for a camel coloured coat which has turned out to be an almost impossible task. I was besotted with one from Whistles for a while but just couldn't talk myself into parting with so much money all at once.

New In: This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle

Since Spring will officially be here at the end of the month (and for us here in the UK that equates to roughly one hour of sun a day) I've decided to switch up my make up wardrobe, saying goodbye to matte skin and dark Winter tones in favour of all things bright and bronzed.

Spring Make Up Haul

First Sephora starts shipping to the UK, now Boots are on 3 for 2. How am I ever going to be able to stop buying make up? With a handful of new launches from my favourite budget brands I couldn't help but pick up a few Spring inspired products on my last visit. Warning - I went a little crazy for the pastels. Details of what made it into the shopping basket below..

Three Drugstore Concealers

For a long time there have only been two main contenders in my life for the title of Best Concealer - my beloved Origins Plantscription for brightening around the eyes and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for it's incredible covering abilities. The only down side to these two is their rather hefty price tags and as concealer is something I tend to get through all too quickly I've been on the hunt for some cheaper alternatives and have found three that might just be up to the job.

The Lip Lineup

I've been purchasing lip products left right and center recently - can't beat that 3 for 2. There seems to be an abundance of new launches, formulas and colours out at the moment, most coming from budget friendly brands and from matte crayons to liquid lipstick I've been trying them all. These five make up my current 'lip wardrobe' of most worn shades, including a few old favourites and a couple of new discoveries that have made the process of selecting a lipstick in the morning a rather challenging one.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Unapologetic: - Pictured above
I became slightly obsessed with getting hold of the Matte Balms after the announcement of their release and they've ended up being just as perfect as I first imagined. All the shades are incredibly pigmented, especially the almost neon pink Unapologetic which has become one of my favourites to pair with nude eyes. The matte texture is velvety soft while being hydrating at the same time and these stain the lips so well I've even managed to a go a whole day (meals included) without having to touch up.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss in Cashmere Rose: - See me wearing it here
On the other end of the spectrum I've been favouring a nude lip a lot more often these days. Never usually a fan of gloss, I think I've been converted by the balm-like, non sticky texture of the Colour Sensational formulas and have already amassed quite the collection of colours of which Cashmere Rose has turned out to be a favourite. The perfect throw on subtel colour that adds a hint of shine and a tint of soft pink.

L'Oreal L'Extrodinaire Liquid Lipstick in 201 Rose Symphony: - See me wearing it here
On days when my lips are super dehydrated and almost any product I own would pick up on dry patches, it's the L'Oreal L'Extrodinaire I turn to. The most hydrating lipstick (liquid or not) I've ever come across, this feels identical to The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care that I recently declared my love for, but with the bonus of a coloured tint. The strong fruity scent may put some off but I can't stop myself applying this repeatedly throughout the day. Although the shades may not be overly pigmented they definitely pack more punch that a lip gloss alone.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Cognito: - See me wearing it here
After years of searching, I think I may have finally found a lipstick that matches the exact shade of my lips. Slightly pointless some may think, but for days when I'n not feeling all that into colour this is the perfect way to even everything out, add some moisture and make my lips look a little more polished than their natural state. The Super Lustrous formulas are very balm like (can anyone spot a trend forming?), adding the perfect amount of hydration without skimping on the colour payoff.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square: - See me wearing it here
Although I've been neglecting red lips over the last few months, when I do decided to go for a full on bold pout it's NARS Red Square that I automatically reach for. Red lipstick can be notoriously tricky to apply but this goes on like a dream. The crayon tip lines and fills in at the same time and although it can be a touch on the drying side (I make sure I've always got a thin layer of Reve de Miel on before hand) this stuff doesn't budge. At all. It's also the most perfect shade of orange tinged red.

So there you have it, five products that have been occupying my lips non-stop. What's your favourite lip choice of the moment? I'll be taking notes!

The bag itself is the Zara Office City Mini, the only purchase I made during the sale which er, actually happened to still be full price.

Although it may be smaller in stature than the original Office City bag - which is now being reserved for days when I need to carry my whole life around, looks can be deceiving as all the essentials fit snugly inside with room for a few extras that I've been lugging with me recently. See the grand tour below!

This Week #56

This week the most perfect item of clothing came into my life. For almost a year I've been searching for a camel coloured coat which has turned out to be an almost impossible task. I was besotted with one from Whistles for a while but just couldn't talk myself into parting with so much money all at once. Then there was a H&M number that nearly became the one until ordering it online (and waiting almost a month for it to turn up - please sort out your shipping H&M) only to find it came almost down to my ankles.

I'd nearly given up hope until I saw Suzie in an absolutely perfect Asos Coat which was not only just the right cut but also reasonably-ish priced. The only problem - it was never in my size. I've obsessed like a mad woman over the last month, constantly checking back to see if new stock had come in, refreshing the page over and over again until finally, last week it was there. I may have actually screamed.

We celebrated my small victory by taking it out for a spin with a walk along the seaside just in time to catch the sunset and then dinner at Wagamama (since a new branch recently opened up nearby and it would have been rude not to, of course). Although slightly worrying that my closest noodle fix is now just down the road we had a great meal - Yasai Yaki Soba for me and Chicken Katsu Curry for Darren which were both demolished mere seconds after snapping these pictures. Yum!

This Works Perfect Skin Miracle was a big blogger favourite last year but it never really appealed to me until an absent minded swatch session in Space NK last month where all opinions were suddenly changed. In my mind I thought this would leave me with a less than desirable orange hue, but although the colour comes out intensely rich, once blended in - and my does it blend effortlessly, it absorbs into skin leaving nothing more than a warm tint and a good boost of hydration. Impossibly healthy, glowing complexion? Yes. Super tanned face? Definitely not.

Although for some this may be enough coverage to wear alone I'm not quite there yet, but with a thin layer of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisture - my favourite for a light but flawless base, and a few dabs of concealer here and there I think I may have just mastered fresh Spring skin. Watch this space!
