Autumn Smokey Make Up Using the Lorac Pro Palette

10/19/2015

Autumnal Smokey Eye

A lot of the time Autumn make up looks tend to be all about dark lips, which, don't get me wrong I'm totally in favour of, but as well as making the most of berry toned products this season I've also been opting for a Fall inspired dusky nude, the likes of which even Kylie Jenner would be proud of. Enter two MAC lipsticks I never thought I'd own but two that I'm totally enjoying using nonetheless, Velvet Teddy and Mehr. Pair with a slightly vampy matte brown smokey eye courtesy of the Lorac Pro Palette - something you seriously need to consider adding to your US beauty shopping list, and some fresh looking skin and you've got an Autumn look that I can't get enough of at the moment.

The Date Night: A Red Inspired Get Ready With Me

8/24/2015

I've been itching to share this video with you for so long and that moment is finally here! Last weekend Darren and I went on a date with a difference. Instead of just settling for our usual haunts (our local Nando's and cinema), we dressed up in our Sunday best and went to the beautiful and much more elegant Hotel du Vin in Winchester.

The Post-NYE Saviour

1/01/2015

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to the first post of 2015 - woo! I hope you all had a fabulous night and whether it was spent in heels or pyjamas, I have no doubt we all stayed up a lot later than usual and are probably paying for it this morning. As a year-round member of the dark circle club - no matter how much sleep I get or how many litres of water I drink they're always just there, I've done my fair share of research on the subject of hiding them and one product that I've found to do a pretty fantastic job is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter.

Get Ready With Me: Red Lips & Winged Liner

9/16/2014

On a day to day basis I've been embracing a much more laid back approach to make up and generally keeping things quite simple, but when it comes to an evening look it's a completely different story and I'm happy to use a multitude of products to contour, bronze, highlight, brighten.. you name it! Therefore on the odd Saturday night that I can be found out on the town with a drink in hand and not in my pyjamas by 4pm waiting for a Chinese to be delivered, my make up game is definitely brought up a level. A classic red lip and winged liner is always my go to look and tonight I'm letting you get ready with me!

Products I've Used Up: The Third Instalment

6/14/2013

I've actually surprised myself at how quickly this amount of used up product has accumulated since the last Empties instalment, but after coming to terms with the fact that I own far too many cosmetics it was time to perceiver through those near empty bottles and scrape out that final dregs before I got my hands on anything new. As well as those who's time had come, I've also gone through a few well loved products that I can tell are going to be sorely missed, if not scribbled down on the repurchase list right away!

Hydraluron Moisture Boost | EVE LOM Cleansing Balm* | Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream | La Roche-Posay Effaclar M | Estée Lauder Daywear Moisturiser | Redken All Soft Shampoo | Redken All Soft Conditioner | L'Oréal Elnett Volume Heat Styling Spray | Batiste Original Dry Shampoo | Philosophy Pumpkin Pie Bath & Shower Gel | Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation

The Spring Edit Part 2: Fragrance

5/18/2013

Although the Spring weather seems to be wavering slightly in England lets cheer ourselves up with the seconcd part of my Spring Edit and four lovely perfumes that make me think dreamily of blue skies and short skirts.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche: Possibly the first perfume I ever fell head over heels in love with, this little green bottle will always have a place in my fragrance roster no matter the season, but Spring I think is when it really stands out as the scent I can't get enough of. Light, zesty and above all packet with warm citrus it lingers on the skin and oozes the feeling of a fresh Spring afternoon.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess: If the smell of holidays in the sun could be bottled, this would be it. The perfect combination of coconut, vanilla and citrus with a slightly musky edge that makes me want to do nothing but bung on a bikini and sit by the pool sipping something with an umbrella in it! It's the sort of perfume that just seems to radiate from within, almost as if it's an enhancement of your natural scent. I can never stop smelling my wrist when I'm wearing this.

Stella McCartney Lily Absolute: Floral perfumes have never really been my forte and Lily of the Valley always seemed like an old fashioned scent in my mind but the notes of spicey black pepper and amber in this fragrance bring it back to life in a mysterious but beautiful way. The word sensual springs to mind when I wear this perfume, but it's still light and fresh enough to wear on a sunny day.

Chloé: I don't think there's another perfume out there quite like Chloé. I can never put my finger on the actual notes, which are warm amber, honey and cedar wood all blended with the scent of roses, although its not the soft sweet floral that you would imagine. It's elegant and definitely strong, but couldn't be more chic. I usually reserve this one for soft Spring evenings as its the deepest of these four fragrances. This is also truly the longest lasting perfume I've ever come across, I'm sure if you didn't wash for a week (although I don't advise that!) you'd still be able to smell this. Also, could the vintage style bottle be any prettier?

What's your favourite Spring fragrance?

What's On My Skincare Shelf: Current Picks

4/22/2013

I've been making an effort to simplify my skincare down to a handful of great products that I know work for me as apposed to the masses of lotions and potions I usually choose between. It's been tough, but I've whittled it down to some real gems and have found a good core routine that my skin is really enjoying. I still like to supplement this with different products here and there and sometimes swap a few things around, but here's an insight into what's currently on my scaled-down skincare shelf.

La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution* | Clarins Instant Eye Make Up Remover | Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Foaming Cleansing Wash | EVE LOM Cleansing Balm* | EVE LOM Eye Cream* | La Roche-Posay Effaclar M Mattifying Moisturiser (now changed to Effaclar Mat) | Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair | Caudalie Divine Oil | Dr Jart Water-Max Sleeping Mask
