Autumn Smokey Make Up Using the Lorac Pro Palette

10/19/2015

Autumnal Smokey Eye

A lot of the time Autumn make up looks tend to be all about dark lips, which, don't get me wrong I'm totally in favour of, but as well as making the most of berry toned products this season I've also been opting for a Fall inspired dusky nude, the likes of which even Kylie Jenner would be proud of. Enter two MAC lipsticks I never thought I'd own but two that I'm totally enjoying using nonetheless, Velvet Teddy and Mehr. Pair with a slightly vampy matte brown smokey eye courtesy of the Lorac Pro Palette - something you seriously need to consider adding to your US beauty shopping list, and some fresh looking skin and you've got an Autumn look that I can't get enough of at the moment.

This Week: Feeling Autumnal

10/18/2015

Are you bored of my harping on about how much I'm loving Autumn yet? No, didn't think so! I've spent my weekends recently (and in fact, any time I leave the house) wrapped up in layer upon layer of jumpers, scarves and coats - I'm definitely one of those people who always feels the cold! I've been living in this Zara black number since I bought it and love how easy it is to pair with practically every outfit. Plus it's super cosy and has pockets deep enough to hide half your arm!

Suede on Black

Since my little wardrobe make over last week I've been fully embracing the Autumn colour palette. The crisp snap in the air is very welcome and I'm starting to feel super festive as we get closer to a handful of my favourite holidays! This suede skirt from New Look has become one of my favourite seasonal pieces, and when paired with a black turtle neck, also New Look, throws out some slight seventies vibes that I'm totally okay with.

Autumn Skincare Favourites With Suzie!

10/27/2014

Last weekend two ridiculously exciting things happened. Not only did I get to meet the adorable little Nala but also filmed a few videos with my favourite girl on the internet, Suzie from Hello October! You should be pretty familiar with Suzie after my mentioning her in countless videos - the girl is one master enabler, so it seemed only right to finally get together in front of the camera and talk all things beauty for you! Autumn favourites were on the cards for the day and we filmed a skincare video which you can see above (unsurprisingly we turned up with identical products) and a make up version which you can find on Suzie's channel. All in all a day well spent, and there we're crepes too - perfection!

Get Ready With Me: Everyday Autumn Make Up

10/21/2014

It was only so long before I had pull out my collection of berry lipsticks and rusty toned shadows and fully embrace Autumnal make up, and this combination of a super simple one product smokey eye and deep burgundy lips has been my favourite look of the moment. Add in bold brows, fresh glowing skin and peachy cheeks and you've got what's become my go-to everyday Autumn make up!

Back to Burgundy With Essie Sole Mate

9/23/2014

There's something about September.. As soon as we get towards the end of the month I start itching to pull the thick knit jumpers out of storage, begin wondering the aisles of Boots in search of berry toned lip products and even notice myself checking coffee shop menus for the festive specials. In my eyes the easiest way to acknowledge a seasonal change though is nail colour, and with pastels and brights set aside, it's finally time for the Autumn shades to make a comeback.

If for some reason I was told I could only ever wear a single nail polish for the rest of my life (dramatic statement, I know) there's no doubt it would have to be Essie Sole Mate. There's just something about this rich wine toned burgundy that I can never get enough of. It goes with everything, looks classic and is also a near on exact dupe for the coolest nail polish in town - Chanel Rouge Noir, although with considerably better lasting power and for only half the price - you're welcome.

Honourable mentions also have to go out to Bordeaux, another Essie masterpiece and Clinique's Black Honey - two more burgundies I know I'll be pulling out in the weeks to come, but for now, Sole Mate has my heart!

Chanel Rouge Noir

9/19/2013

Having recently come back from an incredibly hot country I can't help but notice a crisp breeze in the air and along with finding these on sale in Tesco (unbelievable), Autumn must be well and truly on it's way. Time for a nail-wadrobe seasonal shake-up.

Chanel's Rouge Noir, the polish thats been causing a nail-related frenzy since the nineties, has been on my radar for years now and after a quick browse of Duty Free with a crisp €20 note that just had to be used up, I finally made it mine. A deep burgundy might just been my all time favourite shade to wear and Chanel have done it so, so well. I think this vampy look works well with short, squared off nails so I've been getting out the file and shaping them down.

The brand may not ben known for it's super long lasting formulas, or for being chip free. But honestly, I love this shade so much I don't care. £18 may also be a pretty steep price to pay for a bottle, but I see this being a permanent feature on my nails for the next few months. If you're looking for something a little more affordable however, the two closet ones I've come across in my search for the perfect vampy nail are Barry M's Red Black and Essie's Bordeaux.
