Favourites are something I love sharing with you all, I spend a lot of time talking about things I've just bought, or products I'm trying out. But when I know something deserves to be in a video with the best of the bunch it's worth chatting about!
Rounding up the best in beauty has become a bit of a yearly thing now and I usually dedicate the first few days of January to trolling through a years worth of monthly favourite videos (see the playlist here if you fancy doing the same!) in order to pick out the best of the best from the whole twelve months. As we've just reached August though (can you believe it!?) I thought I'd revisit the same format of video but look back at how things have changed over the last six months. Not surprisingly, quite a few things have remained the same, but I've also discovered some new life-long favourites and changed my mind about a few old ones!
Since we've reached the end of the year it only feels right to end things on a high note with the ultimate countdown of the best beauty products from the last twelve months. I'm talking make up, nails, skincare, hair products and everything body related wrapped up into two (undeniably long and rambling) videos that cover pretty much every category across the board. If you've been pondering what my favourite foundation, blusher, hair mask or even toner were throughout the year, grab yourself a cuppa', get comfortable and enjoy my roundup of the Best in Beauty from 2104!
Taking a step away front the normal beauty product chat, this week I thought I'd share some current favourites from my wardrobe. Now, I'm definitely not the most style orientated out there - I'll leave that to the fashion bloggers, but from time to time I do love a good Topshop raid, late night Asos order or a few hours immersed in the magical kingdom of Zara. I've kept it short and sweet with six of my fashion favourites, plus one as yet undecided upon purchase (let me know if it's a keeper!) and you'll probably notice quite the Autumnal theme running throughout, definitely my favourite season to dress for!
It's time for another round of beauty favourites and coming to you today are my pick of the best products from the month of March. See what made it into the edit from my latest Drugstore Haul, a blogger influenced Shampoo & Conditioner combo and few other new discoveries that have been repeatedly reached for over the last four weeks.
We're now fully immersed a new year and what better way to start things off here at I Covet Thee than a round up of all things beauty from last twelve months. I've gone through the archives to bring you the best of Make Up, Skincare, Hair products and more throughout 2013 and bare with me because this is a meaty one - no stone has been left unturned! I've split this mammoth video into two so grab a cup of tea - and a biscuit if your NY food-related resolutions have wavered by now, and enjoy!
I've been a little distracted on the beauty front this month which I'm blame entirely on frivolous spending and trying out a thousand new things at once. There aren't a whole lot of products that I've been sticking to religiously and loving, but I do have a handful of real gems that have served me well throughout June. Meet the cream eyeshadow with no rivals, a hair combo that makes me want to crack out a surf board and the moisturiser so close to my heart you're probably all sick of hearing about it!
Another month, another handful of impressive beauty products that have been serving me well throughout May. This month I have a small selection of skincare and makeup heroes a few surprising nail polish discoveries and some Spring fragranced themed additions as well. Enjoy!
This month's favourites are short and sweet. I've been sticking to what I know and keeping it pretty simple in all areas of beauty. From a bright lip to some seriously Spring orientated products, here are my picks from the month!
Yes, I know, it's that time again! My most used products this month have been a small but worthy bunch, from lip scrubs to hairspray with some fake tan thrown in for good measure, click here to see this month's offering on the favourites front.
So once again it's that time of the month to discuss all my favourite products from the past few weeks. This one is actually a little special as a whole year ago my 2012 February Favourites was the first video I uploaded to my YouTube channel (and a seriously awkward one at that!) I can't believe how quickly the time has gone and how many lovely people have watched my videos so I'd like to say one big thank you and here's to another year! Click here to see my latest favourites video featuring some wonderful products from Redken, Liz Earle, MAC and more!
Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser: This is still one of my favourite cleansers to use when I find I'm getting a breakout or a few blemishes. It's not harsh or drying like the majority of products targeted at acne and especially when used with my Clarisonic I find this clears up my skin in no time at all.
Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser: This moisturiser had been forgotten about in the back of a draw for too long but after recently rediscovering it I've found it's the perfect balance between a light moisturiser that wont become oily on my combination skin and one that hydrates too. And really, who could say no to anything from Liz Earle?
Clinique Super City Block SPF 40: This has been a constant in my skincare regime for the last few months. I like to use a high SPF even if it isn't remotely sunny as those nasty UV rays are still out there! Usually the higher the factor, the thicker the product is but as this is oil free it glides on so smoothly and gives the perfect base for make up.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask: My go to mask at the moment. Although my skin can be oily, I still find I get dryness so I like to use hydrating products every now and then. Every time I wake up after using this my skin feels plumped and glowing. You can also read a full review of this here!
L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil: The concept of shower oils is lovely. They begin as a rich silky oil that turns into a creamy milk as soon as it touches water. I had to buy this after seeing Anna raving about it for so long and I'm very glad I did as it leaves my skin silky soft without even having to moisturise.
The Body Shop Chocomania Body Scrub: A product from quite possibly the best smelling range The Body Shop have to offer. Think melted chocolate, and then some. Not only does this smell amazing but its also a lovely scrub.
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation: I'm becoming quite obsessed with Laura Mercier bases. This is without doubt my favourite foundation at the moment and for a foundation addict like myself just the fact that I've used this pretty much non-stop since buying it should say enough! It gives such a beautiful, flawless coverage and smooths over any pore, big or small. Its literally like buffing silk into your skin. Everyone needs to try a sample of this right away!
Benefit Dallas Powder: This has probably been my most used cheek product all month mostly down to how convenient it is. The colour is perfect to be used as blusher and bronzer in one and it really does last all day on my super blusher absorbent cheeks.
Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder: I think I'm even shocked myself that a powder has made it into a list of favourites. Overly matte skin is probably my biggest make up hate but after seeing so many people go on about how nice this actually was this inner bandwagon-jumper in me had to try it and I was actually really surprised. I still don't use a lot but it sets my make up perfectly without being cakey or drying at all.
Essie Bikini so Teeny and Fear & Desire: Its very rare for me to take off a nail varnish only to put the same on back on again and these two from Essie's newest collection haven't left my fingertips all month!
Chloé Eau de Parfum: The only fragrance I've been wearing recently. Such a unique smell that I just can't get enough of.
