Make up posts seem to be a bit lacking on the blog these days so I thought I'd give you a quick rundown of whats been on my face recently. I've well and truly gone back to Double Wear and despite our terbulant love/hate relationship it gives me the coverage and the staying power that I need and looks just as fresh after a long day of work as it did in the morning. On top of that I've been using my 'power combo' of concealers; Collection Lasting Perfection to banish away any dark circles (the warm undertone it has is perfect for this) and a quick V under the eye and along the cheekbone with the Clinique Airbrush which has an amazing brightening effect to give me that well rested look no matter how little sleep I've had.
I've been keeping it quite simple with the eyes; a light dusting of MAC's All That Glitters over the entire lid and then a thin line of the matte black shadow from Sleek's Storm Palette just slightly winged out. I've been favouring this over an actual liquid liner for some time as it looks a lot softer while still giving some much needed definition. Along with that I've been using the amazing (and definitely not raved about enough) Grow Luscious Mascara from Revlon on the top lashes after a quick curl with my Shu Uemura Curlers, my latest obsession, and a sweep of Clinique's Lash Power on the bottom which is the only mascara in the world that doesn't seem to smudge on me. Afterwards its onto the brows and the only product I ever use, MAC's Charcoal Brown, set in place with a good brow gel.
For the cheeks I've been using Harmony from MAC, which might just be the perfect contour colour for fair complexions, in the hollows of my cheeks, up to the temple and over the face lightly to warm up the skin. For blush, I never stray far from a good coral and Sleek's Rose Gold (which might as well be Nars Orgasm as they're identical) does the job while adding a tiny bit of gold shimmer to my cheeks. Last of all for the face I like to get a big brush and mix all the colours of the 17 Bronze Shimmer Brick together then dust over the tops of my cheekbones and along the bridge of the nose for a lovely warm highlight.
Finally, although the go to Autumn/Winter colours seem to be anything in the plum family, I've been loving a bright orange lip. Forgetting it's rather comical name, No7's Gay Geramium (which incidentally was launched way back in 1965, amazing!) is the perfect richly pigmented, long lasting lipstick for this.
